Violette and Hortensia refer to the flowers "violets" and "hortensia/hydrangea". However, the kanji pronunciation can also mean “death” and “life” which is also the symbolism behind the flowers. Hiver Laurent, the owner of the dolls, placed his moon tattoo on Violette as a sign of death and his sun tattoo on Hortensia as a sign of life.
Even though they’re not twins, they’re still very cute cosplayers from Comiket 2010. Thanks to Ingrid for sending this!
